REVERSE PSYCHOLOGY – FORTY MINUTE ONE ACT COMEDY ABOUT GETTING FIRED
After a work party Amy would rather forget, she has some explaining to do. She made the mistake of inviting Fred, a man whom she’d had a nice first date with, who got unforgivably drunk and made a total ass of himself in front of Amy’s boss, Abby. (First he danced with Abby and they fell over. Then he spilled his drink all over her husband. Then he vomited at the dinner table.) Now Abby is on her way over to TALK TO Amy and likely FIRE her, and it only gets worse when Amy’s friend, Alice, drops in to tell her that she has invited Fred over to make amends in this forty minute one act comedy.
Amy understandably wants no part of his explanation, but when he tells her that he popped six Valium before the party out of nervousness of seeing Amy again, Amy thinks she may be able to
save her job by keeping Fred around. Alice leaves to give them some space when Bob, Amy’s other friend, drops over complaining that he too is going to lose his job. He’s already lost his fiancee after she left to buy butter from the store and never returned, and can’t handle another heartache.
As fate would have it, Alice returns and sees Bob, revealing that not only is she is the very same woman who walked out on him, but that she only didn’t return because she was struck by lightning. Now with the two lovers reunited all they have to do is stop Amy from getting fired!
