OFF THE WALL PLAYS GRADUATE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Congratulations for making it this far through the many milestones of academia. Now it’s onto the next phase of life – finding your place in the minefield that is the workplace! Welcome to Off the Wall Plays Graduate Internship Program in Publishing.
Having spoken to many graduates who wish to enter the field of publishing, the main obstacle seems to be gaining experience in the industry. Most employers want previous experience and won’t hire somebody without it, but it’s getting that experience that seems to be the trickiest thing for most people.
Off The Wall Plays offers an 8 week unpaid internship that gives you just that – valuable experience. We’ll give you insights into many facets of the publishing industry from perusing scripts that have been submitted to marketing the products we produce. Graduates will need to complete and be competent in a set of day to day tasks in the publishing industry. These will include:
- Perusing submitted scripts, and selecting the best to publish
- Editing of the scripts including formatting, grammar and spelling
- Writing a punchy eye grabbing synopsis of a script
- Publishing a play online including title, graphic, description, synopsis and making it Google Friendly.
- Conversion of a digital script to a print format
- Basic book cover design
- Marketing
This program is open to graduates of all ages and degrees. If you don’t have a degree, but think this may be the job for you, you may also apply.
Candidates will work online from home, thus we will accept applicants worldwide. Only candidates with perfect written English need apply. We have staff with variety of degrees and diplomas on our team – Drama, English, Audio Visual and Communication, Mathematics and IT and even Veterinary Science!
