CHRISSY’S REVENGE – PLAY ABOUT BEING TRANSGENDER AND FAMILY
Joy Diamond, famous actress and diva lives for her public image and has always been careful to maintain it. She has a son called Christopher who has, until now been her pride and joy. Now he/she has come to the realization that he/she was born in the wrong body and henceforth would like to be known as Chrissy and would also like his/her mother to pay for his/her sexual reassignment surgery. Although Joy has grudgingly accepted Chrissy’s choices to his/her face, when not in earshot, she gives others her true opinion. She has no intention of paying for ‘that’ surgery. One night when friends are visiting, it all comes to a head, and when Chrissy realises that his/her mother doesn’t approve of the upcoming surgery and will also refuse to pay for the operation, he/she hatches a devious scheme to publicly shame his/her renowned mother.
