Description
THE STORYTELLER – A PLAY ABOUT FORGETTING AN ANNIVERSARY…AND COMING UP WITH A WHOPPER!
It’s Phil and Minda’s anniversary. Minda has lit candles. Although the effect is romantic, the reason is not. They have no power and the roast for their anniversary is sitting uncooked in a cold oven. Minda has tried everything and is now waiting for the man to come out to fix it. So, so far this anniversary sucks. But at least when Phil arrives, he’ll bring her a bunch of flowers and she’ll feel better. Only…he doesn’t. What could he possibly say to that? Well – after a truly terrible day and a series of bizarre, horrible and unusual events (involving losing an account, getting fired, a dirty lottery ticket, a homeless man who claims to own the ticket, the winnings which they shared, actually, he hasn’t lost his job after all and….a bunch of flowers!) he comes out with it. So, what do you think? The truth? Or a giant whopper! A play about forgetting an anniversary.
