Myth II: Heroes and Halfwits – A Comic Look at Greek Mythology

$6.50

What makes a hero?

Strength!
Agility!
Valour!
Honesty
Modesty
and…A TRAGIC end.

But this play isn’t about heroes. It’s about the other ones. The halfwits of Greek Mythology, who, like idiots, bumbled their way through life, where things didn’t QUITE go to plan. But it still makes a good story, right? So join us to celebrate these halfwits. For they are much more like the ordinary people that we all know than all the heroes with tragic ends. A comic look at Greek Mythology.

PRODUCTION HISTORY – note by the author

MYTH: Heroes and Halfwits was conceived as a touring community theatre production, developed with young people in collaboration with professional artists in 2021. We performed in parks, marketplaces, new build housing estates, even on the street in one location and the production was designed to be eye catching to draw in the public.
I do hope your company enjoys finding their own spin on the production.

NOTE: Although the script  mentions the use of music, it was mainly parodies of popular music at the time. The only original song is ZEUS which is available on request.
