BREADMAN – SATIRICAL COMEDY ABOUT MARRIAGE AND SEX

Davey and Jenny are high school sweethearts, and are about to graduate high school. Lately it has been dawning on Davey that Jenny and him may be wanting different things. Davey would like to go to law school, whereas Jenny is fixated (unusually, even) on getting married and starting a family. They get to talking one evening, and although Davey still isn’t at all sure about marriage, Jenny gets him to agree to meet her parents as the ‘next step.’ They duly go round and ‘meet the parents.’ Jenny’s mother is a formidable women in both size and personality, who rules over her mouse like husband with an iron rolling pin. But they seem happily married enough.

When the young couple meet them, Jenny’s father, Bosley takes Davey aside to talk to him, man to man. Bosley would like Davey to marry his Jenny and offers him a job as incentive. The job – being a Bread Man. For a Bread Man is not simply a job – it’s a vocation. It’s not only delivering bread in the early morning. It’s servicing the entire community. And when I say servicing, I mean servicing.
All the women on his delivery route, on a daily basis. It’s a full time vocation and to be honest, Bosley’s quite popular.

Bosley is quite honest about his marriage and that the, well, ardour has faded between him and his wife and says it’s likely to happen in most marriages. That’s where the bread men come in. Of course, they have a standing agreement with the milk men….. But will Davey agree to this most unusual suggestion? A satirical comedy about marriage and sex.
