Benjamin’s exoneration. The Attorney-General consents to this and the investigation begins in this Edgar Allan Poe Murder Mystery.

Literary master Edgar Allan Poe first introduced detective C. Auguste Dupin in “The Murders in the Rue Morgue.” In this sequel, Dupin — Poe’s alter ego and the model for such classic characters as Sherlock Holmes and Hercule Poirot — investigates the baffling
murder of a beautiful young socialite. Poe’s 1841 narrative intentionally paralleled a real murder case under investigation in
New York City. In adapting “The Mystery of Marie Roget” for the stage, Poe’s fictional account has been interwoven with the actual facts of the case to create an intriguing puzzle that will keep audiences guessing right up until the final shocking revelation.
