FAMILY SEPARATION – A DARK COMEDY SKIT ABOUT PARENTS SEPARATING. FROM THEIR KIDS.

When Andrew and Andrea set their kids, Fran and Francis down at the table to talk about something important, the kids naturally assume their parents are going to get a divorce. After all, they have been fighting an awful lot. So it comes as a huge shock when their parents inform them that, yes, they are legally separating, but, no, it’s not from each other, but from their kids. After all, the kids are the source of the problems they’ve been having, really. Without them, they’d have more money and even be able to go on that holiday they’d always wanted. Of course they’d have to move out. Who?  Why? Well, Andrew and Andrea are really attached to the house so it should be the kids that go. Simple? Of course it is! A dark comedy skit about parents separating from their kids.

MORE PASTA – TEN MINUTE COMEDY ABOUT FAMILY AND VEGANISM

Not everyone eats as much meat as they used to nowadays. Doctors warn it makes your cholesterol high, and let’s face it, there’s a lot more pressure from the vegans than there used to be. But Mike never dreamed it would enter his home. Mike is Italian and every good Italian boy knows that whenever he needs to, he can go home to momma and she’ll cook him a meal fit for a king. Spagetti and meatballs, for instance. But when Mike goes round to visit his folks, he finds that things are just a little different from what they used to be and momma is – well let’s just say she’s embraced her new lifestyle with a never seen before fervor.

SOMETHING’S GOT TO GIVE – TWO ACT SUBURBAN FAMILY COMEDY PLAY

Children are a gift from God. Alcohol ensures they remain so.

Henry Goodman, his wife Monica and their two daughters Denise and Danielle are typical average householders with 2.5 kids and a house in the suburbs. And they have a strict ritual. This ritual takes place in the family’s living room, usually after a hard day of school for Danielle, work for the parents and well, uh, newly-wed life for ‘damsel of drama’ Denise. The ritual begins when Monica asks her beloved husband to fix her an alcoholic beverage, which he does. He also mixes himself something strong too. This happens every evening.

But one day, things fall apart. In Something’s Got to Give, (a two act suburban family comedy play) we are thrust into the drama of everyday life unraveling fast and furiously as everything that could go wrong and right in a couple of hours, does. Throw in the police, illegal drugs, a car accident or two or more and we have to ask if it would be fair to blame their daughters? Teenage Danielle who wants to fit in? Wildcard Denise who married when she thought she was pregnant and might still be, but can’t be sure? The answers for Henry and his wife are easier to bear with a martini glass in hand. Perhaps, the answers themselves lie in said glass.
