Description
THE PERFECT PLACE FOR A MOUSE – CHILDREN’S PLAY BASED ON AESOP’S FABLES
Set in the 1920s, a decade of stark contrasts, also known as the Roaring Twenties. These contrasts are a thread woven through the story: good versus evil, countryside versus town, educated versus simpleminded, and naivety versus sophistication. This children’s play based on Aesop’s fables starts with Peregrine, a city mouse and a gentleman of leisure reading a letter from his cousin, Archibald, who lives in the country.
Due to their financial woes, Archibald is in the process of selling his family’s farm to an unscrupulous buyer, leading to unhappiness within the farming community. At the behest of his aunt, Peregrine, accompanied by his trusty valet, Aesop, visits Archibald, much to the chagrin of Honesty, Archibald’s wife. Well-known fables are dotted throughout the story, each with an appropriate moral lesson to dispense.
Please note: This play has music to accompany the songs, and will be available to download with your purchase.
