THE MAGICIAN’S NEPHEW – PLAY ADAPTED FROM C.S. LEWIS NARNIA BOOKS

This children’s theatre play is adapted from C.S. Lewis’ prequel to the Narnia series of the same name, The Magician’s Nephew. Digory is sent to live with his Aunt Letty (who is not at all impressed with her brother’s so called ‘magic tricks’) and Uncle Andrew in London. While there he meets Polly, the girl next door. Together they venture into his uncle’s study where something interesting is about to happen. Digory and Polly are sent off into a different world, and there they discover magical ruins.

The children awaken a powerful old ruler, Jadis, who in turn seeks to return with the children and rule over Earth! We follow the children and they try to stop Jadis, while saving 1900s London. As a prequel it gives us insight to the partial creation of Narnia. It answers how the White Witch came to be, Aslan’s power, and how it was that Human’s began to rule over Narnia. This is great fun for the family while setting up what are one of the greatest adventures every child wishes they could go on. With a large ensemble making up fairies, animals, and colourful English accents there’s sure to be something in it for everyone! The Magician’s Nephew is a play adapted from C.S. Lewis Narnia books.
