Description
ROXANNE OF THE ISLANDS (OR THEY’RE PLAYING OUR SARONG) – A COMEDY MELODRAMA
ROXANNE OF THE ISLANDS, a comedy melodrama, is the story of the brave and beautiful Roxanne on her home of Ooaheek Island in the South Pacific after WorldWar II. Roxanne, Fred and their Uncle Alpo are the last three of their family left on the island. One day there’s a volcanic eruption on the island, so the slimy witch doctor Zhivago thinks it’s as good a time as any to ask her for Roxanne’s hand. However, there are more pressing matters at hand than declining a marriage proposal.
Once that’s out of the way, not only must she contend with lovesick doctor Zhivago and a 1000 year old goddess with daddy issues who’s after her ship-wrecked sea captain boyfriend but also a volcano that just won’t give a poor girl a break. Zhivago won’t be easily put off though. So what should the witch doctor do? Summon a high priestess of course. It’s up to Roxanne and her family to save themselves from Zhivago’s wrath and protect the island they call home.
