Description
GRIEF AND GRIZZLY BEARS – COMEDY ABOUT FINDING YOUR FAMILY (AND A BEAR)
A comedy about finding your family and finding yourself. Steve, Tucker, and Elliott are half-brothers: different mothers, same philandering Dad. Their complicated relationship with each other has nothing on their complicated relationship with their now recently-deceased father. So when Steve suggests the three of them go on a camping trip as a bonding exercise, they accept (Tucker with some reluctance, and Elliott with enthusiasm). Along the way they encounter a sweet young couple whose unconditional love for each other inspires them, a cheery park ranger who’s a little too blasé about the threat of bear attacks, and his kooky, socially awkward sidekick who says the most inappropriate things at the worst times.
What the three brothers mainly discover, though, is that their feelings about their emotionally unavailable father and his recent death, have manifested in very different ways for each of them. Steve, feeling unbearable guilt, has thrown himself into work, and is trying to fix everything he can – especially his relationship with his brothers. Tucker is angry – at his father, his brothers, and the world. And Elliott hides his grief under a veneer of positivity and enthusiasm, which all comes to light after a long night and an accident with a bear trap (at least it wasn’t an actual bear, though).
