Description
THE CAPTAIN OF A CREATIVE SHIP – PSYCHOLOGICAL DRAMEDY ABOUT AN AUDITION
A group of people are find themselves auditioning in front of an arrogant abusive director. They come from different backgrounds but what they have in common is they are amateur actors with a love for the stage. The director takes advantage of the situation and the audition process is nothing short of chaotic, bordering on the absurd. As the director ‘warms up’ he alternates between being flattering and downright abusive, and pushes the actors to the extreme . Desperate for a part, the actors try to comply as the director’s behavior gets worse and worse in this psychological dramedy about an audition. Some people will do anything, but some will get pushed too far…
But nothing is as it seems. It is later revealed that the actors are all part of an experimental group and the director is a PhD graduate observing human behaviour and power dynamics and isn’t a director at all, but rather a ‘puppet master,’ using these people as human guinea pigs for his research without their consent. He doesn’t see anything wrong with what he has done and, in fact, he feels that the entire experience has improved people’s lives.
