Description
HANDSOMELY TO THE RESCUE – CHILDREN’S MUSICAL
Prince Handsomely is out doing what he does best – searching for maidens to rescue, along with his sidekick Norbert. Tagging along, or rather, behind him (because they really, really fancy him) are three Princesses (tragically, Prince Handsomely do not fancy them). Those annoying Princesses keep trying to do whatever they can to make him interested in them in this children’s musical
They come across Princess Marigold, a self sufficient princess. She is there with her friends Lion, Mouse and Duck. Handsomely has at last found a Maiden! He will now do what he does best! Rescue her! (Pity he keeps getting her name wrong and even more of a pity that she doesn’t really need any rescuing.)
But it cannot be! He simply doesn’t understand why she doesn’t need to be rescued, no matter how many times Marigold tries to explain. And then his sidekick, Norbert abandons him, because, well he’s getting along like a house on fire with the Princess.
Handsomely gets his foot lodged as he trudges away – Marigold helps the prince get unstuck. Grr. His day goes from bad to worse when he tries to slay an angry dragon, and Marigold helps the dragon instead of letting him slay it by pulling a thorn out of its foot. Double Grr.
Ultimately, it is Marigold with the help of the 3 maidens, who help the prince realise that he does not need to rescue every princess and that Marigold especially does not need to be rescued.
He learns his lesson, he finally gets Marigold’s name right, and they all live happily ever after.
