Description
BELIEVE – A PLAY ABOUT BELIEVING IN ELVIS
Joe is middle aged, somewhat UNhappily married, and looking for a sign from the king. The King of Rock and Roll that is. He and his long- suffering wife June have done their best to make ends meet. She has tried her best to support him, and their teenaged son…King. However, she is nearing the end of her rope and wants someone to champion her too – while she is alive. Because she has a dream as well – her poetry. Joe’s fanaticism has taken over his family responsibilities and his life. The only thing Joe wants is a sign to restore his love in Elvis, all he needs to do is believe! A play about believing in Elvis, against all odds.
Believe has been workshopped by Theatre West in Los Angeles and also had a reading with the Alliance of Los Angeles Playwrights.
