A MOTHER’S RANSOM – GRITTY BRITISH DRAMA SET IN THE 1960’S

A Mother’s Ransom is a Gritty British Drama set in the Sixties, 1963 to be exact. Bobby Taylor has been living with his widowed Mum. He is actually using her as a cover for his illegal activities in the City of London. He is a drug dealer, however this isn’t common knowledge and his dear mum knows very little about what he really does for a living.  Tonight, he comes home obviously edgy. The police begin sending more and more frantic messages through the loud hailer, and not knowing what to do next, he shoots through the windows. The siege starts to bite.

As Britain still executes her murderers in the 1960’s, Bobby  tries to negotiate an escape. He feels he has hit rock bottom and has nothing more to lose…How wrong he is. In a quick bungled attempt at shooting his Mother, Mrs. Taylor grabs the gun and is left with the terrible decision – does she kill the monster she brought into the world or does she hand him to the Police.
There is so much more to expect from the frail little Mother who appears to have no ransom.

A Mother’s Ransom is a play in one act and runs for 55 mins. It calls for two characters and a voice of the police in the loud hailer.
