Description
BURNING RUBBER – IRISH CRIME DRAMA SCRIPT
Karl O’Grady has been waiting thirty years to see Manchester United in the Champion’s League Final. Along with his best friend, Rubber Carmody, the two sit in Karl’s living room with plenty of
beer on tap to watch the match on Karl’s brand new, high-definition TV. But when Karl’s satellite goes out, forcing him to get stuck on the roof due to a crippling anxiety attack, the trouble goes beyond just missing the match in this Irish crime drama script.
A young hitman (dressed as Freddy Krueger) rushes onto the scene, having just fired gunshots – later determined to be the fatal hit on a notorious drug gangster. He eventually leaves, but not
before Rubber and Karl get a good look at the teenager. Later, Detective Noel O’Gorman approaches Rubber after Karl gets taken to the hospital after falling from the roof. O’Gorman threatens Rubber that if he doesn’t come forward with information on the hitman, he will let leak Rubber’s past status as a past police informant, which would result in sure danger for Rubber – and Karl.
