Description
ALMA – TEN MINUTE CHARACTER PIECE FOR A FEMALE ACTOR
A ten minute comedic character piece for a female actor with offstage/audience voices thrown in sporadically throughout as she addresses them. Alma, a Jewish woman in her sixties, gives a blow by blow account of her life, from her dead husband, to her grudingly supportive brother in law – who likes her to support him in more ways than one, to her liposuctioned sister in law, to her tattoo, which she’ll happily show you.
The piece is meant to be performed by a younger actress, dressed up as a sixty five year old woman in a belted dress, large boobs, small waist, old woman’s shoes, knee high stockings, a wobbly wig and a purse under her arm. She is full of sass and doesn’t take no for an answer! The piece can also be performed as a monologue and would be ideal for comedic auditions. Alma is one of eight plays that can be performed as part of a dinner theatre evening with the same cast playing in all 8 plays. This is the first and the rest are to come!
