Description
YASMINA, CLORIS AND GORDAFARID – THREE VIEWS ON WAR AND PEACE: Play about Women in War
In Yasmina, Cloris and Gordafarid, three women — a wounded war veteran, one about to leave for a war zone for her first tour of duty, the third making the choice to sacrifice herself to serve her country — “write” letters to significant others describing their feelings about war, the experience/anticipation of it, and their part in it. The nationality of the women is immaterial as war is something that knows no nationality. Patriotism, or love, or rather loyalty to our country can lead us to do things we ordinarily wouldn’t. But are we doing what is right? Or is it what they want us to do? A Play about Women in War.
