YOU DO WHAT YOU CAN – PARODY ON MACBETH
“All hail his royal eminence Duncan (“ugh, must we”) the King of Scotland (“not for long”)! May he live forever (“or die trying”)”
What does it take to kill a king? The time: medieval Scotland, the place: Dunsinane Castle – home to Lord and Lady Macbeth, the task: kill the King. Ambitious as the crime may be the young Lady Macbeth is dead-set on murdering King Duncan of Scotland, to ensure her Lordly husband’s claim to the throne. As she plots against the unsuspecting and happy-go-lucky king she finds she is more interested in the crown than her foolhardy husband is but is nonetheless undeterred. When her plan involving three witches implodes, she decides on a method which is well-known throughout history to be a woman’s weapon of choice… But alas, as meticulous as one can be, success is not always a guarantee. This is a story of how actions seldom have consequences, how lessons may be taught but not learnt and how an eye for an eye remains to be seen.
