UNHAPPILY EVER AFTER – FANTASY PLAY FOR TEENS AND OLDER KIDS WITH A MEDIUM CAST

What would have happened if the villains had won? It is 5 years since the Evil Queen, Valborga succeeded in placing Snow White under the sleeping curse. Much has changed in the lands of Perrault and Grimmenvald. The Prince has vanished, unable to rescue Snow White. Valborga has been terrorising the villages and neighbouring kingdoms, taking with force what she believes to be hers by right, alongside her sister, the Sea Witch, Dorea. All hope seems lost. But now, something has changed. A small group of outlaws – the Band of the Red Apple – have come together to overthrow the Evil Queen, find the Prince and rescue Snow White with true loves kiss, restoring happy endings once more to the lands in this fantasy play for teens and older kids.

ENCHANTED – PLAYS FOR JUNIOR HIGH

In Enchanted, our favourite fairy tale princesses Cindi, Jasmine, Ariel, Ru, Belle and Snow are in desperate need of the right knight upon a mighty steed, to come to their aid in defeating the Wicked
Witch. Enter Ben (10) and Jesse (13) – two young boys. Not what you would call knights exactly, well, to be honest they are not knights at all but they are boy scouts, thank you very much and honourable even amongst real men. In this two act comedy, alliances are made, promises are broken, nasty minions are duped and good must conquer evil once again! Let’s just hope it happens before Jesse and Ben become the fairy tale itself. Plays for junior high.

THE FOURTH WALL – ONE ACT TEEN ADVENTURE COMEDY

For those of you that do not know the most important aspect of the moments leading up to the performance of a staged play, LISTEN UP! The fourth wall exists and to all kamikaze’s, beware! Jack,
Jason and Sarah fail to heed this fierce and true warning when they decide to do a bit of exploring on a blank stage, in ‘The Fourth Wall’ – a one act teen adventure comedy.

When the performers discover the kids, they call off their show in the beginning scene and attempt to catch them and take them to the stage manager. When one of the three kids get caught by the performers, the other two kids left must equip themselves with prop weapons and team up with theatre thugs to fight their way through egotistical lead roles, a stunned narrator, epic soldiers, chaotic scene changes and a short tempered stage manager to get their friend back.

In this comedy, a few frivolous minutes of exploration unravel a series of unfortunate events for a show that is already a hot mess. It is up to the Stage Manager to get it together before the show goes on, as he carefully weighs the risk, reward and raucousness of running a revue.
