Description
WHO I AM – PLAY FOR TEENAGE GIRLS
This is a play about a girl who has to decide who she is and who she is going to let influence her opinion and truth about herself. It’s Valentine’s day tomorrow and the girls are planning a ‘ladies only’ Valentine’s day but it turns out that Ronel has been asked out by a very good looking boy she met a party. They joked about her obsession with maths, and until now, he has only texted her the odd maths question. Today, however he’s asked her to meet him at a restaurant on a date. The girls are very excited, and all band together to do her hair and make up, and even send her to the date in a taxi! They don’t tell her family though, thinking it best to keep it secret from them in this play for teenage girls.
But when Ronel calls them from the restaurant in tears the next evening, it’s clear something has gone badly wrong.
Note: The play is based in South Africa so local colloquialisms can be changed for performances for audiences in other countries.
