The Beach House (TB) – A Farcical Comedy Script in Two Acts

$5.50

John Collins didn’t have too much to worry about in April of 1996. Aside from figuring out the last clue of the Sunday crossword puzzle and refilling the bird feeder, his days consisted of relaxing in the recliner by the window, taking in the view of the Great Peconic Bay. The only thing he had yet to take care of was putting his prized possession, his home, into a trust so his three children, Janet, Jake, and Julie, will always maintain control of it. Then the old man would
have nothing left to worry about…

Fast forward to 2001. Jake’s still living in the beach house, along with his new girlfriend, Carol, when Janet and Julie drop in completely unannounced — and with some unexpected news.
Considering their alcoholism and the complete falling apart of their lives in general, they’ll now be moving in with Jake, Carol, and Dad. The only problem is, Dad’s been dead for years, and Jake hasn’t told them.

THE BEACH HOUSE — A FARCICAL COMEDY SCRIPT IN TWO ACTS

John Collins didn’t have too much to worry about in April of 1996. Aside from figuring out the last clue of the Sunday crossword puzzle and refilling the bird feeder, his days consisted of relaxing in the recliner by the window, taking in the view of the Great Peconic Bay. The only thing he had yet to take care of was putting his prized possession, his home, into a trust so his three children, Janet, Jake, and Julie, will always maintain control of it. Then the old man would
have nothing left to worry about… Fast forward to 2001. Jake’s still living in the beach house, along with his new girlfriend, Carol, when Janet and Julie drop in completely unannounced — and with some unexpected news in this farcical comedy script.

Considering their alcoholism and the complete falling apart of their lives in general, they’ll now be moving in with Jake, Carol, and Dad. The only problem is, Dad’s been dead for years, and Jake hasn’t told them.

Between Jake trying to maintain the illusion that their father is still alive and neighborhood skeez Ray Fitzpatrick showing up to hook up with his old flame “Juicy Julie,” the play goes through a myriad of hilarious twists and turns that keeps everyone on their toes. It turns out Ray has more than just sex on his mind, and tries to blackmail the family for his part in covering up their father’s death… unless they can figure out a way to stop him in time!
