THE 27 CLUB – ONE ACT DARK COMEDY FOR THREE WOMEN

You’ve heard of the 27 club, right? The place where the talented young people of our world go to die. Kurt Cobain, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison….to name a few. All died aged 27 and all were talents the world won’t forget. But what about those people with just as much talent who die, but miss the 27 club cut off?  Where do they go? It turns out to be a dentist’s office.  With two doors, bad seventies decor and Sylvia Plath. In fact Sylvia Plath, famous poet has been there for many years, with Anne Sexton, also a famous poet to keep her company. Time has passed. Maybe even fifty years and the two of them haven’t gone anywhere in this one act dark comedy for three women. Until Amy Winehouse arrives, thinking she should be at the 27 club…  When Winehouse suggests that they create a 60s girl group called The Soul Sisters of Suicide, the women drink, they fight over who’s the most famous, they play Truth or Dare—until someone figures out why they are there and they band together to get out. Absurd dark comedy.
