ANNE THEN SOME – PLAY ABOUT TEEN FRIENDSHIP AND LOVE

You are raspberry cordially invited to Prince Edward Island, home of carrot-top-of-the-line literary heroine Anne Shirley and her bosom friend Diana Barry. These kindred spirits have some contemporary company: Vernie and Cori, teenage visitors who meet for the first time on a field day at Field Day at Green Gables Heritage Place. In one comedic act we follow the duo as they train together for Field Day. They’re on a team, much to Vernie’s vexation. That’s them. Cori comes up with the crazy ideas and Vernie entertains them. A three-legged race enables the girls to get closer than the pleats in Anne’s pigtail braids, but is it love at first “site”? Anne and Diana solemnly swear their faithfulness to one another within minutes of meeting. Will Vernie and Cori duplicate their devotion? In ‘Anne Then Some,’ we see a relationship unfold in the best way and how a friendship (and maybe more than that) is as wondrous and innocent as it gets. Play about teen friendship and love.

This is Vernie and Cori’s story.
