Off The Wall Plays – Online Play Publishers since 2010

[ad name=”Tweet”]

Off The Wall Plays is a  young, online publishing house whose aim is to attract quality playwrights with fresh, new ideas as opposed to our larger competitors.  We accept your plays free of charge. Off The Wall Plays will publish your play and get it out there for you. If your play sells, you will get 80% of the Royalties of each sale from the beginning.

Because Off The Wall Plays is a smaller publishing house, we have the resources and time it needs to get your play out there. We put a synopsis and sample of your your play on the front page of the website, when your play goes live, so it gets seen and not just filed into a genre with thousands of other plays. It stays in our top ten new plays for the next few months. We place a sample of your script on the website, not the full play so no one will be able to illegally use your work.

If your play sells well, we will add it to our “Best Sellers” list, automatically ranking it higher than ordinary plays, the price increases, and so do your Royalties. Plays bought to be used for a run or a season will also have license fees that will be paid by the organization that purchased the play, and 50% of those will go to the authors as well.

Once your play has been submitted, your play will be reviewed by our editor, who will contact you. Please have a look at our guidelines for submitting your play – by following these guidelines it will help your play sell.  We don’t mind correcting the odd typo, but plays with many spelling mistakes, missing punctuation marks and poor grammar will be sent back to the authors for correction before they can be considered for publishing, so please make sure yours is 100% first before you send it! We also try to get back to authors within a few days at most so they will know almost immediately that their script has been received and whether or not it will be published.

Set in a psychologist’s office, Anna alone is a drama about a girl who has multiple personality disorder caused by physical and sexual abuse at the hands of her mother. The play deals with her confronting the issue of her mother’s death so that she can come to terms with who she is.

All the different ‘sides’ of Anna’s personality can be played by various different actresses – the interplay between them is the fascinating part of this one act drama script.

When someone sets fire to Dinny Gallagher’s hay, Sergeant Marty McAteer needs to find a convenient culprit to blame. (Because, although it was an accident, Dinny Gallagher has always been “good” to the police) He decides to arrest the local Poet Hughie Doherty, because Doherty has always rubbed him up the wrong way, with his fancy rhymes that poke fun at people, and he needs to be taken down a peg or two. But it turns out that some real criminals are at large in the district….

CHATTER – ROMANTIC COMEDY SCRIPT

When a couple, Albert and Aimee meet and fall in love in a chatroom, they get engaged and plan to get married.  It seems too good to be true. Only thing is… they haven’t actually met in real life. So when Albert flies out from the UK to meet his true love, and borrows his brother’s mobile phone, things take an hilarious turn when the wrong people end up meeting each other in this romantic comedy script!

Author: Anton Krueger

Characters: 4F, 2M

Type: One, 1 act

Genre: Romantic Comedy Script

Suitable for: All Ages

Set and difficulty: 7/10 Technically challenging. The play is accompanied by an animated backdrop which adds technological communication as another character. From the start, a chat-room text streaming across the back becomes “animated” in that the graphics embody and articulate emotion, tone and so on. At another
point, cell-phone calls zigzag across the space and SMS messages scoot through the ether; cartoonishly bouncing about the parameters of the stage before finding their destinations in
other phones. Occasionally these could even head out over the auditorium (if such a thing can be done) breaking through the fourth wall. Although it is not entirely impossible to imagine the play being performed without these technological elements, they may add an
element of spectacle to its delivery.

“YOU DO LOVE ME, DON’T YOU?” – A DARK COMEDY CUM SCARY PSYCHO THRILLER IN ONE ACT – scary plays

Peta-Ann brings the love of her life, Leon home to meet her family for the first time.   Her parents, Robert and Glenda are naturally skeptical about a boy Peta swears is “the one” when she has only known Leon for a few short weeks. Leon is everything a girl would dream of in a guy – polite, attentive and extremely loving towards Peta. So loving, in fact, that he doesn’t want anything to get in the way of their happiness…..

A new scary psycho thriller play by our award winning author, Claire Linda Demmer, about really getting to know the man you love…………..before taking him home. The play starts off as a comedy, then depending on how it is directed, abruptly transitions into a psycho thriller or alternatively, a dark comedy.

THE WANDERING BARD’S TALE – CHILDREN’S FAIRYTALE PLAY IN ONE ACT
