I have written a number of plays for play festivals, as well as read through hundreds of plays on the internet, and I realized there is gap in the publishing industry where good authors struggle to get their plays published. So I have created an online play publishing company that will publish and sell plays!

The Last Time I saw Paris – Three act comedy plays

THE LAST TIME I SAW PARIS – THREE ACT COMEDY PLAYS

three act comedy plays

The Last Time I saw Paris – the alternative history – How the horse of Troy thing really went down! Complete with Greek Gods that are actually Scottish, and many, many puns, this teen parody on the Trojan wars in the style of the ‘Carry On films’ will have the cast giggling away , and the audience too. Featuring: Helen of Sparta, Paris, Hector, Achilles and a host of other mythical characters and complete with two songs and incidental music. It is a great play for a large cast, such as a secondary or high school or community theatre group.

CHECK OFF IN THE SUN – FAMILY DRAMA SCRIPT

family drama script

Victoria is terminally ill. She arranges for a villa in the southwest and has her closest friends and family join her for what is assumed to be a final meeting among them. Two generations attend. It is a farewell but none can figure out how to say farewell. Each comes with a personal history, each with a personal need to assert what Victoria means to him or her, the part she played in his or her life, and even expectations for what Victoria should feel about them. Least of all can they figure out how to handle the impending death.

Traditional arguments among them resume, but now highly tense in the context of a life viewed as an entirety. Each questions his or her own and each other’s accomplishments to the extent their personalities permit. Each questions even more the roles others played in Victoria’s life. And Victoria concludes they came for no reason but to check her off. She herself is not sure why she called them.

There is a frightening police marijuana raid and a steak missing at the dinner table; but they learn how to give comfort and some about life and death, their own as well as Victoria’s.

Aladdin comedy script

The wicked wizard Abanazaar seeks ultimate power to rule the world. But unfortunately, the power is only given to those who are worthy. Despite his assurances that he will use it to fix the hole in the ozone layer, he is not deemed worthy. But there is one who is.  His name is Aladdin, and he is currently pretending he is royalty (but hiding out as a peasant), so that he doesn’t get executed for staring at the local Princess.  Aladdin is being hunted by the fierce Gung Ho, and fears for his life.

When  Abanazaar arrives in Peking, he seeks Aladdin out and pretends to be a long lost relative. When he promises that he has  a ‘get rich quick’ scheme up his sleeve, Aladdin sees his chance to prove he is worthy of the Princess by getting load of money, and so agrees to enter a magical cave and retrieve a lamp for Abanazaar to do so. But things get even better when Aladdin rubs the lamp himself, unleashing the secret agent Genie inside and his sidekick, Miss FunnyPenny. This suits Aladdin perfectly, until Abanazaar steals the lamp back from him….and tries to kill him….

Two pretentious art aficionados meet in a gallery that is exhibiting monochrome paintings by a famous Spanish artist. Naturally they try to impress each other with their art knowledge, smug in the knowledge that they know exactly what to say to impress each other. They are interrupted by “Smith,” an ordinary Joe, who points out that the painting is actually painted with red paint, but that he likes them anyway and that the the red painting is nicer than the green and blue ones. What to do when your pretentious bubble is burst…

Redditch Advertiser, Worcesterhire, England
Produced by Mouthpiece Theatre, Worcestershire, England 2004
“Putting on a theatre performance is always a risky business. You don’t know whether the audience will turn off he telly and risk the chance of a waster evening. Mouthpiece Productions remedies this by taking theatre to the people. And if has certainly deliver the goods with its latest festival offering – Ugly Art… The show was a treat – a performance of this quality is worth traveling to watch. The show was light accessible and above all, very entertaining.

Sumter Item, Sumter, South Carolina
Produced by Urban Theater of Sumter 2004
“Three large canvases (blue, yellow and green) one bench and a small table displaying several wine glasses set the stage for “Ugly Art,” written by last year’s South Carolina playwright’s winner Terry Roueche… The play itself is sophisticated dialogue, evoking laughter through seven vignettes that explore a variety of topics – marriage, control, snobbery, fidelity and artistic talk…

ODIN VISITS CHRIST – SHORT COMEDY SKITS FOR TWO ACTORS

WARNING: CONTAINS OFFENSIVE RELIGIOUS CONTENT

A short skit for two actors in which Odin pops round to Christ’s house for a visit (and possibly a bit on the side.)   Odin is a bit down because of his lack of followers lately, other than the occasional nutter in a caftan. Christ helpfully points out that Odin’s followers slaughtering all his potential converts in battle could potentially be the source of the problem? They lament that state of religion nowadays  (Even Satan has opened a club (with air conditioning) in Soho.) and generally have a good old natter about the state of the world and what Odin’s wife wants for Christmas this year.

Enter Love – Modern Musicals

ENTER LOVE – MODERN MUSICALS

Enter Love is a musical about the nature and vicissitudes of romantic relationships in the first decade of the 21st century. It is set in an international airport, located in a large city somewhere in the mid-west. The production consists of a series of encounters—with dialogue and music—that take place between an assortment of couples and individuals at various locations—arrival and departure concourses, waiting lounges, baggage check, a coffee shop, restaurant, observation deck, and the central location, a bar—in the airport.

During the course of the production the audience witnesses various manifestations and stages of romantic relationships as the characters pass through on their way from one flight to another, and many times from one delayed, canceled, or redirected journey to another, or the continuation of a relationship full of, as pilots like to say, “Chop.”.

“Enter love”….was first on stage at Civic Theatre in Lafayette, IN and then at the Quest Theatre in Chicago, Illinois. This show started out as  cabaret production at the Cabaret in Indianapolis, IN and it grew into a more complete musical of vignettes set in an airport which provided opportunity for couples and strangers to interact.

The author will allow workshopping but not a complete rewrite of the script.

When Siamese twins Jack and Jill’s car breaks down in the middle of a one horse town in the South African Cape countryside, they try to rent a room in the town’s only hotel. Tensions and comedy run high when the dimwitted receptionist insists that they won’t be allowed to share a room because of them being a man and a woman because that sort of thing is simply not heard of. When the manager is called and she is found to share a similar view, Jack and Jill can hardly believe it.
