ALICE IN FOOTBALL LAND – PLAYS FOR CHILDREN

 children's plays

This fast paced retelling of the classic Alice in Wonderland is updated to modern times and set in a football stadium, where the Riverdale Rabbits are facing their rivals, the Duncan Dormice.

Alice, cheerleader for the Riverdale Rabbits, falls from the top of the pyramid and finds herself lost in the stadium desperately seeking Tod (the star quarterback) her ‘true love’. Along the way she encounters a strange group of characters; a coach who can’t control his players, a band leader whose band plays animals as musical instrument, the water boy who only serves water at his tea party, the referees who can’t decide what penalty to call, and the Cheshire Brand Hot Dog vendor who gives her cryptic and confusing clues. As Alice finds what she searches for, she realizes that she was chasing after the wrong things the whole time.

Alice in Football was performed at the Parkside Playhouse, Vicksburg, MS, June 24-26, 2010.
